I am a musician and multimedia artist with 14 years of experience in the music industry as a performer and 8yrs as producer/arranger.

"Kyazze Tekizzikayo"

My project is a digital musical film "Kyazze Tekizzikayo", in which I explore using new media techniques to advance African orature . It explores new digital techniques of recording traditional instruments and incorporating the results in a comprehensible visual story.

Kyazze Tekizzikayo is a short African musical film based on the Kiganda myths of "walumbe" [grim reaper] from the Kintu and Nambi legend. It tells of how death came to the world when Nambi and Kintu, the first people on earth, disobeyed Ggulu, the creator.

The 20 minute film was written by a BA Music student Essence Kasozi as part research project, part showcase and precursor to a longer theatrical musical of the Kintu & Nambi legend. I directed it and co-produced it with Essence, and recorded and produced various musical pieces and soundscapes for it.
